A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, January 14, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin for Mrs. Mary Lynne Hebert Cestia, 83, an Iberia Parish native, longtime former resident of Baldwin, and a resident of Azalea Estates in New Iberia for the past four years, who passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012, at 2:50 PM at Iberia Medical Center. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Father Gregory Cormier will officiate the services.
Survivors include three sons, John Cestia and his wife Brenda Peters Cestia of Denver, CO, David Cestia and his wife Melissa Simoneaux Cestia of New Iberia, and Thomas Cestia of Miami, FL; five grandchildren, Kara Lynne Cestia, Amy Cestia, Magen Cestia Smith and her husband Ricky, David Slade Cestia, and Michael Cestia; four great grandchildren, Zane Michael Granger, Mali Rae Cestia, Adleigh Grace Smith, and Liahna Evelyn Smith; one niece; and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Clayton "JC" Cestia; one daughter, Patricia Ann Cestia; her parents, Victor Hebert and Loria Labit Hebert; and two brothers, Dalton and Dallas Hebert.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday at the church from 9:00 AM until Mass time at 11:00 AM.
