Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 2, 2012, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Episcopal Church for Mrs. Colleen Hodgins Aycock, 75, a New Orleans native and resident of Franklin for the past 54 years, who passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at 3:15 AM at Franklin Foundation hospital following a brief illness. Rev. Dr. Cal Lane will officiate the services. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

Mrs. Aycock was owner of A&R Promotions and was very active in the Franklin community. In addition to overseeing her business, she was a longtime member of several civic and social organizations including Rotary International, St. Mary Landmarks, where she served on the Board, Franklin Carnival Club, Krewe of Adonis, Franklin Fortnightly, and the Thursday Group. She was a staunch supporter of the Cajun Coast Visitors and Convention Bureau, and volunteered with several tourism development projects, particularly the organization of the Bayou Teche Black Bear Festival. Mrs. Aycock also served on the vestry of St. Mary's Episcopal, her church home.

Survivors include her daughters, Dawne Porche and her husband Timothy of Duluth, GA, and Maurye McCarthy and her husband Paul of New Orleans; and two grandchildren, Ashley Porche and Timothy Porche, II, both of Duluth, GA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy A. Aycock; and her parents, Thomas Percy Hodgins and Gladys Ebert Hodgins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Timothy Porche, Paul McCarthy, Timothy Porche, II, and Dr. Thomas Frere Kramer.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, PO Box 95, Franklin, LA 70538.

The family would like to thank Dr. Steven McPherson, Dr. Donna Tesi, and the staff at Franklin Foundation for their care.
