A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville for Allen Paul Adams, Sr., 83, who passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at the Franklin Health Care Center. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Fr. Ruben Primor will be the celebrant of the Mass.
Allen was a native of Patterson and long time resident of Centerville, where he made his livelihood as a farmer in the sugar cane industry.
Survivors include his sons, Allen P. "Fly" Adams and his wife Mona of Centerville and Bryan Adams and his wife Jimmie "Pee-Wee" of Amite; daughter, Monica Adams of Corpus Christi, TX.; sisters, Patsy A. Comeaux and her husband John of Centerville, and Marie A. Schexnayder and her husband Paul of Franklin; brothers, Bill Adams and his wife Vivian of Lafayette, Guy Adams and his wife Ilsa of Bossier City; Edgar Adams and his wife Faye of Franklin, and Albert Adams and his wife Pat of Mandeville; three grandchildren, Trecia Adams Luke and her husband David of Centerville, Shane Gisclair, Sr. and his wife Tammy of Marrero, and Steven C. Adams and his wife Jennifer of Amite; five great grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Shane, Jr., Brittany and Blaine; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Merlene Louviere Adams; parents, Vandon and Della Lagrange Adams; and a brother, Van Adams.
Serving as pallbearers will be his brothers, Bill, Guy, Edgar and Albert Adams, and great-grandsons, Justin Luke and Steven Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Luke and David Luke.
The family requests that visitation be observed from 9:00 AM until time of Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville.
