A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, January 19, 2012, at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin for Therese Ray McGraw, 83, a native of Opelousas and a resident of Franklin for the past 50 years, who passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012, at 9:05 PM at Opelousas General Hospital. Father Billy Ruskoski will officiate the Mass.

Mrs. Therese was very proud of having received her Registered Nursing Degree from Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans. She was a longtime employee of Franklin Foundation Hospital.

Survivors include her five children, Johnny Saichuk and his wife Susette of Lafayette, Chuck Minyard and his wife Debi of Lewisburg, Kathy Saichuk of Baton Rouge, Robert Minyard and his wife Kim of Lafayette, and Mary Grace Wolff and her husband Loren of San Miguel, Mexico; two step-sons, Michael McGraw of San Francisco, CA and John (Skip) McGraw and his wife Margaret of Monroe; one brother, Charles (Brother) Ray and his wife Veronica of Lewisburg; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace (Mac) McGraw; her parents, Bernard Ray and Elmire Bourque Ray; an infant brother, Clement Ray; infant twin sisters; and her step-granddaughter, Ruthie McGraw.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday at Ibert's Mortuary from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with the rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM. Visiting will resume Thursday at the Church of the Assumption at 9:30 AM until Mass time at 10:30 AM.

Burial will be held Thursday at 1:30 PM at St. John Cemetery in Lewisburg, LA (St. Landry Parish).
