Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at 1:30 PM at Ibert's Mortuary for Mrs. Nellie Wern Derouen Orgeron, 95, a native of Homeplace and a resident of Franklin, who passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011, at 2:58 PM at her home. Burial will follow in St. Helen's Cemetery in Florence. Father Thomas Vu will officiate the services.

Survivors include six children, Julia D. Picard of Jeanerette, Wesley Derouen and his wife Evelyn of Jeanerette, Noemie "Lee" D. Brown of Franklin, Judy P. Clement of Hackberry, Alice P. Bourque and her husband Ronald of Franklin, and Donald Derouen and his companion Jackie Benge of Franklin; 29 grandchildren; 69 great grandchildren; and numerous great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Rivers Derouen; her 2nd husband, Arthur Orgeron; her parents, Danercier Wern and Julia Theriot Borel Wern; one daughter, Mary D. Ellis; one grandson, Christopher Mayon; her nine siblings, Forrest Borel, Justa Perez, Donald Wern, Sr., Russell Warren, Helen Buteaux, Laura St. Pierre, Ernest Borel, Sr., Sidney Borel, Sr., and Wilfred Borel, Sr., and her godparents, Herbert Ibert and Ruth Belanger.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday at Ibert's Mortuary from 10:00 AM until time of service.
