Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin for Mr. Lance B. Walker, Jr., 74, a Franklin native and a resident of Zachary for the past 10 years, who passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011, at 6:05 AM at his home. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Centerville. Father Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services.

Mr. Walker was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. He was also an avid fisherman.

Survivors include his wife of 40 and a half years, Alice Watson Walker of Zachary; one daughter, Lanca W. Smith and her husband Maurice of Zachary; two step-daughters, Ora W. Montgomery and Nora Walker, both of Natchez, MS; three step-sons, Joel Watson of Honduras, Alvin Mauldin of Ethel, and Paul Mauldin of Monroe; two brothers, Paul Walker of New Iberia and Jimmy Broussard of Jeanerette; two sisters, Marie Bonin of Las Vegas and Suzanne Barrett of Shreveport; and six grandchildren, Austin Walker, Catherine Smith, Vontorrey Haynes, Alicia Mauldin, Amy Norwood, and Shelbi Norwood.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lance B. Walker, Sr., his mother, Hazel Martin Walker; and three siblings, Linda Arnold, Edmond (Bozo) Walker, and Hazel Walker.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday at Ibert's Mortuary from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM.
