A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, December 12, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Church of the Assumption for Mrs. Billie Marie Anderson Ruskoski, 90, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, who passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011, on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, at 5:26 PM at Franklin Foundation Hospital with her family at her side. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Michael Russo will be the main celebrant, with other local priests co-celebrating the Mass.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who was a longtime and devout member of the Church of the Assumption. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters Court Assumption, Ladies Altar Society, as well as a lecturer and Eucharistic minister. She taught various grades in the public school system and kindergarten at St. John, taught catechism classes for many years, was a member of the Come Lord Jesus bible study group, and volunteered her time on Tuesday's as a pink lady at the Franklin Foundation Hospital.

Survivors include her eleven children, Jackie R. Firmin of Morrow, GA, Ronnie Ruskoski and his wife Brenda of Baldwin, Marsha R. Kuhlman of Centreville, MS, Johnny Ruskoski and his wife Wil of Ontario, Canada, Wendy R. Hebert and her husband Ronald of Baton Rouge, Malyn R. Guidry and her husband David of Sunset, Dahleen R. Mayard and her husband John of Humble, TX, Marguerite R. Siess and her husband Charlie of Conroe, TX, Diane R. Chauvin and her husband J. L. of Franklin, Monica R. Romero and her husband Mark of Franklin, and Andrea R. Landry and her husband Neal of Jeanerette; one brother, William Anderson and his wife Marguerite of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Mae Thibeaux and her husband Paul of Jeanerette and Eloise Dopson of Ohio; thirty four grandchildren; forty four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lawrence Ruskoski; one son, Ricky Ruskoski; one daughter, Janice R. Picard; her parents, William Anderson and Mamie Ecuer Anderson; one brother, Sonny Anderson; and one granddaughter, Amy Roberts Aucoin.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday at the Church of the Assumption from 9:00 AM until Mass time at 2:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 11:00 AM.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Siess, Steven Chauvin, Jacob Landry, Ryan Ruskoski, Johnny Roberts, Jack Darden, Joshua Hebert, Ian Ruskoski, Matthew Guidry, and Adam Mayard, with Tyne Firmin and Evan Landry as Honorary pallbearers.
