Phyllis Ann Vilcan Chauvin, 68, a native of Franklin and a lifelong resident of Charenton, passed away at her home on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, following a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Phyllis worked for Texaco for 18 years until having to retire due to her declining health. Some of her favorite pastimes were listening to classic country music and watching NASCAR racing and football. She was a huge Saints fan and loved family get-togethers and cook-ups.

Those she leaves to cherish her memory include her three children, Dale Simoneaux Sr. and his wife Rachel, Patrick Simoneaux, and Patricia S. Martin; as well as eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Harry J. "Mingo" Simoneaux; her second husband, Bobby Ray Chauvin; her parents, Alexander E. Vilcan and Cora Darden Vilcan; and her son-in-law, Gerry "Gaggy" Martin.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, February 24, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charenton beginning at 9:00 a.m., followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Father Cedric Sonnier will be the Celebrant for the Mass. She will be laid to rest in the Chitimacha Mausoleum.
