Martha Aucoin Robicheaux, a native of Morgan City and a 76 year resident of Franklin, passed away peacefully at the age of 96 with her family at her side on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the Franklin Health Care Center.

Martha was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of the Church of the Assumption in Franklin, where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters – Court Assumption and the Ladies Altar Society. She also was a faithful helper for the St. Joseph's Altar and an adorer at the Church of the Assumption's Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. Some of Martha's favorite pastimes were playing cards with her friends and crocheting. But by far what brought her the greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially for family get-togethers and cook-ups at the camp.

Those she leaves to cherish her memory include her two children, Dale P. Robicheaux and his wife Sue and Sheila R. Ducote and her husband Tommy; six grandchildren, Kristi R. Smiddy and her husband Winston, Keeri R. Payton and her husband Eddie, Damon Robicheaux and his wife Chastity, Ricky Carter and his wife Marni, Tiffany R. Soprano, and Tysha R. Hebert and her husband Jeramie; 13 great grandchildren, Emilee Pence, Wil Pence, Calli Coleman, Ashley Falterman, Katie Payton, Brett Payton and his wife Amanda, Blair Robicheaux, Tory Robicheaux, Jude Trautman, Maci Hebert, Brooklyn Soprano, Brittany Soprano, and Brandon Soprano; and four great great grandchildren, Avery, Maddox and Madelyn Payton, and Kineddi Pence.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wilmer J. "Bill" Robicheaux Sr.; one son, Wilmer J. "Billy" Robicheaux Jr.; her sister, Myrtle Theriot; and her parents, Eddie and Bernice Aucoin.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, March 2, at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. Visitations will resume Saturday, Mar. 3, at the Church of the Assumption beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Lloyd Benoit will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie Payton, Michael Rodriguez, Wil Pence, Michael Kirkland, Randy Martin, and Louis Caro. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Robicheaux, Tommy Ducote, Damon Robicheaux, Ricky Carter, Emmet John Martin, and Carroll Trahan.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Franklin Health Care Center and the staff of Heart of Hospice for the loving and compassionate care given to their mother.
