Funeral services celebrating the life of Jody Marie "JoJo" Charpentier will be held Monday, April 10, 2017, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin during a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Father Cedric Sonnier will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Romero, Jaret Migues, Josh Rousse, Dylan Falgoust, Brant Pontiff, Devin Tabb, Wilson "Butch" Weise, and Edward Amy.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation which will be held Monday at the church beginning at 9:00 a.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 11:00 a.m.

Jody was born and raised in Franklin, was a former longtime resident of Baldwin, and a resident of Charenton for the past seven years who passed away at the age of 58 on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. She dedicated over thirty years of faithful service as an educator in the St. Mary Parish School System. After retiring almost five years ago she enjoyed traveling, camping, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling her dog, Bay. She was an avid reader, movie buff, and like her mother was always a peace maker. Although she had no children of her own, her life was full as she loved to spoil all of her nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was the most loving, giving, and beautiful person, inside and out. She will be dearly missed by all.

Those she leaves to cherish her memory include her sisters, Jan F. Romero and her husband Ernest, Tammy C. Doucet and her husband Edwin, and Trudy C. Hargis and her husband Hughey; sister-in-law, Belinda W. Charpentier; step-mother, Lota "Totsie" O'Brien Charpentier; step-sister, Brenda Amy and her husband Edward; step-brothers, Eugene Pat O'Brien and his wife Joy, Jonathan Perry O'Brien, and Denny O'Brien; god-children, Brandon Romero and his wife Sheri and Dusti Hargis; nephew, Jaret Migues; nieces, Carley Rousse and her husband Josh and Renee Romero; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Shanley J. "Jocko" Charpentier and Frances Signorelli Charpentier; and her brother, Gene Michael Charpentier.
