Elton Breaux, 77, died June 10, 2018 in West Monroe, Louisiana following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin on Thursday, June 14th, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Following the service, Elton will be laid to rest in Perpetual Park Cemetery. Deacon Gerald Bourg will conduct the services.

Elton was born June 24, 1940 in Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School. He then enlisted in the army and was stationed at West Point Military Academy in New York as a military policeman. He later joined the Louisiana State Police and served there until retirement with the rank of Lieutenant. He spent most of his adult life in Northeast Louisiana working his land and raising his family, but his heart always remained in Cajun country.

He is survived by his wife, Lola and her daughter Misty Moore, his two sons; Randy and his wife Treshan, and Tim and his wife Nancy; his grandchildren; Justin Breaux and his wife Erica, Ellie Thomas and her husband Preston, Carter Breaux, and Dustin Breaux and his wife Kayla; his great grandchildren; Breanna Michelle, Destin Riley, Zoey Regan, his brother Clyde and his wife Veronica, and his two sisters; Carolyn Robicheaux and her husband Glenn, and Jacklyn Spangler and her husband Reid.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elton Paul Breaux and Annie Mae Guillotte Breaux, his brother, Kearney, and his granddaughter Stephanie.
