Catherine Joe Delhomme Alexander, a native of New Iberia and a 48 year resident of Sorrel, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday evening, April 20, 2018, at the age of 78. Cathy, as she was affectionately known, was a longtime and faithful member of Calvary Pentecostal Church in Jeanerette. She was an LPN and worked for many years at Consolata Nursing Home in New Iberia, where she enjoyed caring for the residents. Some of her favorite pastimes included growing and caring for her large collection of potted plants, reading, crocheting, needle point, and traveling. She was an excellent cook and baker, of which she was well known for her pecan pies, potato salad, and banana pudding. But what truly brought joy to her life was her faith in the Lord and her love for her family.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of nearly 59 years, Arlen Alexander; their three children, James "Jimmy" Alexander and his wife Judy, Galen "Mike" Alexander and his wife Melissa, and Elizabeth "Liz" Alexander; five grandchildren, Martine Alexander and her companion Tommy Killingsworth, Brett Ackoury and his wife Brittany, Dustin Benoit and his wife Kayla, Devin Alexander and his wife Hannah, and Savannah Willmore; six great grandchildren, Gabriel Alexander, Rayland Peltier, Kori Brown, Madilynn Brown, Nason Ackoury, and Eloise Benoit; one sister, Sylvia Walter; her mother-in-law, Mabel Guillotte Pinell Alexander; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Joseph Delhomme and Mildred Eccles Delhomme; one brother, Richard "Dickie" Delhomme; and her father-in-law, Rev. Titus C. Alexander.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation on Sunday, April 22, at Calvary Pentecostal Church, 12310 Hwy 90 E, Jeanerette, LA 70544, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and again Monday, April 23, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Presiding over the services will be Rev. A. L. Lyle, Rev. Wesley Jackson, and Rev. Darian Hosch. Following she will be laid to rest in Beau Pré Cemetery in Jeanerette. Serving as pallbearers will be James "Jimmy" Alexander, Galen "Mike" Alexander, Elizabeth "Liz" Alexander, Brett Ackoury, Dustin Benoit, and Devin Alexander. Honorary pallbearers will be Gabriel Alexander and Rayland Peltier.
