Tribute & Message From The Family

Kerry Todd Martin passed away at the age of 54 in the early morning hours of Friday, May 18, 2018, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette following a brief illness. Todd, as he was known by most, was born in Franklin and was a lifelong resident of Charenton. He worked at Cypress Bayou Casino for the past 25 years, starting as a slot technician, later becoming Parts Coordinator. Todd was also a good listener. In fact if you wanted to know what was the latest news he could probably fill you in about it. In his own words he would jokingly say, "I don't have to ask questions, I just listen." Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, camping, piddling around in his shop, and simply being of help to others in whatever way he could. His many nieces and nephews whom he loved to play and joke with held a special place in his heart.

Todd will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his longtime companion, Paula J. Darden; his step-son, Brandon Darden; two brothers, Terry Martin and his wife Rebecca and Lonnie "Lou Lou" Martin and his wife Angela; sister-in-law, Patricia S. Martin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Those he is reunited with that have gone on before him include his infant son, Kerry Ty Martin; his parents, Ludwig "Lou" Martin and Janet Vilcan Martin; and two brothers, Ronnie "Toon" Martin and Gerry "Gaggy" Martin.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 2:00 p.m., led by Bro. Blaise Smith. Following the services, Todd will be laid to rest in the Chitimacha Mausoleum in Charenton. Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Darden, Brian Darden, Robert Brown, Coty Martin, Lonnie Lucas Martin, Terroni Dominick, Evan Frederick, and Kadin Landry.

Family and friends may view the obituary and express their condolences online by visiting www.iberts.com.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main Street, Franklin, LA 70538, (337) 828-5426.
