To the family--I was a neighbor, friend, sister in Christ, and also an Eastern Star. She would usually ride with me to the meetings. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Great photo of your mom.

No offering in your drop-down for sister-in-law, but Dee was more of a sister to me than any in-law could ever be. We became friends in 1959 when her brother, Roy, and I started dating. I was 16 years old. She and her husband Brooksie were our witnesses at our wedding, and a vital part of our young married lives, helping us along with way in every way they could, and every way we needed. Through the years we enjoyed many special events as all families do. We laughed and cried together for these 58 years. When I spoke with her on the telephone after she had received her diagnosis (two weeks ago) she said to me... "I'm okay, sugar... I'm going to a better place". I do know for sure that much is true. Dee loved the Lord and she loved serving in First Baptist Church of Franklin. I know that my Roy is in heaven and loved seeing his Dee ("little Carrie" )come home. I pray for peace and comfort for her children and grandchildren in the days and weeks ahead. She will be missed and remembered with such fondness.

Dee was like my second mom growing up as a teenager in Franklin. Her daughter, Linda was my best friend and still is She made my wedding dress and all my bridesmaid dresses. Although I have not seen her in a long time, I will always remember her as a very kind and loving person. She always had a smile on her face and kind words for me. Rest In Peace, Dee.v

MiMi is what we all called her. One of the most loving and beautiful people I've ever known since I was just a little girl. She had this garden and would can everything fresh! The older she got the funnier she got... she was the best. And will be missed greatly by many. One thing for sure she will never be forgotten.

So very many memories. As a child, we would go to Dee,s house and make up plays and sing and dance and Dee would film us. As we got older we would go and play all the latest songs on the stero, dance and have a good old time. She was so loving and caring and always there for us and anybody that needed her. She will be greatly missed. I love you Dee and I am so thankful that I had you in my life!
