Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin for Mr. Charles James Naquin, 82, a native of Franklin and a resident of Lutcher for the past 46 years, who passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012, at 12:05 PM at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Fr. Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services.
Charles was a veteran of the United States Army and enjoyed traveling and camping.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Rachelle Theriot Naquin of Lutcher; four children, Deborah Fontenot and her husband Rick of Lafayette, Jennifer Villeneuve and her husband Keith of St. Amant, Douglas Naquin and his wife Donna of Paulina, and Brian Naquin and his wife Kathi of Denham Springs; one brother, LeRoy Naquin and his wife Mercedes of Berwick; one sister, Barbara Gorman of Franklin; six grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah, Jordan, Megan, Ryan, and Amber; and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anatole John Naquin, Sr. and Marcelite Olivier Naquin; one sister, Pearl N. Hebert; and two brothers, Anatole John Naquin, Jr. and Raymond (Nookie) Naquin.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday at Ibert's Mortuary from 10:00 AM until service time at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
